Acrylic Painting
I enjoy working with acrylic paints. Versatile and colours mix well. Dries reasonably quickly. If you like these pieces and want to see more, check out my Acrylic paintings page to see a more comprehensive selection.
Charcoal
Charcoal is a good medium to work with. It can be messy and you need to be careful not to smudge. It blends well and you can get some really nice effects using a few white highlights.
Digital (Procreate)
I first got an iPad pro in 2017, alongside the apple pencil. One of the first apps I installed was Procreate. A versatile app, with a myriad of brushes that I have built up over time. Digital (Illustrator)
These are Images created using Adobe Illustrator. This is a different way of doing art. Whereas Procreate is similar to drawing on paper, these are largely created through manipulating shapes
Mixed Media
Art pieces using with mixed media. This is an artform I need to experiment with more.
Pastels
If I had to choose an art medium that I was the most comfortable with, it would have to be pastels. Soft pastels and pastel pencils are a medium I enjoy. I also favour Pastelmat for the base, it’s not cheap, but it’s very effective. If you like these pieces, check out my Pastels page to see more..
Pencils / colour Pencils
I enjoy doing art with pencils, though I perhaps need more patience. The tigers eye here was done in colouring pencils on Pastelmat after a workshop and I really enjoyed it. It took a lot longer to build up the layers compared pastels, but it is definitely a medium I would like to explore more.
Pen and Ink
Pen can seen quite daunting, there’s no going back if it goes wrong, but with proper planning and a steady hand it be a very effective medium.
Photography
A few of my favourite photographs. I take a lot of photos in general, but I purchase a Canon EOS R7 to take my photography another step further. If you like these sample photos, take a look at my Photography page to see more.
Watercolour
If I am being honest, Watercolour isn’t the easiest medium for me, but I can be very stubborn and I keep trying to improve my abilities. If you like these sample pieces check out my Watercolour page to see more.
